What technology do we use? Our software is based on .NET Technology for the application under Microsoft Internet Information Services and Microsoft SQL Server for our Data Engine. We have over 65 reports based on Microsoft Reporting Services and use Microsoft OLAP for our Business Intelligence engine.

In 2004, Hula Software expanded to include Hula Professional Services (HPS). Our Professional Services team offers a wide array of IT experience from multiple industries including restaurant, multi-channel retailing, distribution, warehousing, customer operations and more. HPS specializes in strategy planning, project management, technical architecture, systems design, application development, and systems integration. HPS is your IT "On-Demand". We tailor solutions to meet our customer's specifications.

In 2007, Hula upgraded its database architecture to SQL Server 2005 and adopted a unique ASP model. The ASP model allows Hula to provide software-based services over the Internet.

Hula Software will complete its conversion to Microsoft’s .NET operating system platform in April of 2008. This project will provide greatly expanded services and access for customers on the Internet.

It has now been around two years that we have been using our software to help us better understand where our costs are going, and I thought that a thank you was appropriate.

As you may remember, we had had a less than desirable relationship with another food cost software company when our first Johnny Rockets opened thirteen some odd years ago. We could never get it to work properly and their customer service was not what I expected.

In the time that we have been using Hula, we have seen many improvements in the restaurant. Of course there was resistance from our managers about our desire to change our system. The typical complaints were about the time it took, and the perceived lack of consistency in the system. While these complaints did not disappear overnight, it rapidly became obvious that the problems were with us, not Hula.

Hula Software has allowed us to cut our food cost by an average of 2 percent. This is huge! In our current climate we are doing everything we can to control our costs, I spend a good portion of every day looking to see where we can save, and I am thrilled to tell you that I spend no time thinking about food cost, Hula has freed me up to look elsewhere. I have used reports int he past but nothing this diverse and dynamic. The system allows me to report on on the most detailed information at the minute, I love this software. Thanks
